Technology Key to Supporting World Expo 2020 in Dubai

ll eyes are now on Dubai’s biggest trade show – World Expo 2020. UAE has gone all out with years of planning and working to put forward one of the most advanced and splendid World Expo one has ever seen. They have certainly welcomed the opportunity well in the Middle East for the first time ever. 

The grand spectacle is about to go live with music, drama, dance, and a star-studded opening ceremony. With more than a hundred countries joining from all over the world, everyone is buzzed to take a look at the show that Dubai is going to put forward. 

Dubai World Expo 2020 is the first to have a “one nation, one pavilion” policy. To be held from October 2021 to March 2022, the six-month exhibition has opened its gates to visitors from all around the world. It is expected to attract over 25 million new visitors and boost industrial business in the UAE. 

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dubai World Expo 2020 will lead to a rise in the GDP of the United Arab Emirates.

Technology in Expo 2020

IT and AI are amongst the leading technologies in the World Expo 2020. The exhibition has combined arts, culture, and cutting-edge technology that is surely going to wow every single visitor. With informational technology and operational technology, the security systems are all ready to tackle any threats. 

From welcoming visitors to guiding them around, robots will be seen everywhere in the exhibition. Mega screens and virtual reality will be seen in many pavilions across the site. A large expenditure has been done on ICT-related investments. 

Eman Al Awadhi – the Vice President, Cyber Security and Resilience at Dubai 2020 Expo – said that the most diverse and dynamic technology ecosystem is being used to support 200+ participants. Leading companies from all around the world are a part of this security system. 

Even after Expo 2020 ends, it will leave behind a legacy in technological infrastructure. This will be an inspiration for future cities not just in the UAE but all over the world.
